Glasgow-based livejournal friends

It appears that a number of people who have livejournals in Glasgow are, or have been, getting together. Cleodhna has some as friends, as does Gareth.

This is not particularly new, but it still puzzles me. Forgive me for being old-fashioned (yes, this being the Internet, I can be old-fashioned and not even 30), but I always thought the point of getting to know people on the Internet was to get passionately involved with them, fly across an ocean, and then discover they were psychos.

Being able to quite cheaply go out to the pub with them within 3 months of meeting them, somehow feels like a cop-out to me.

So I got married

And it completely interfered with my livejournal posting rhythm. Although most of that was because Bo, my boss, gave me a new G4 Power Mac. Which I neglected to copy LiveJournal software onto.

OTOH, Civilisation III now runs happily on the new machine. No jury would convict me from neglecting, well, anything else.

We're now having a Grand Computer Shuffle (which accompanies the Great Clutter Purge that has to follow a wedding and four Fieldings crashing about in our flat), which will be the cause of much geekery.

BTW, has anyone seen a good survey recently? Or was the last one about three months ago? So much for trends.

Anyway, wedding photos will be up as soon as we have everything scanned and can reasonably choose from the best (we're still expecting a bunch of digital camera photos). There will be stuff at http://strangeleyhall.org.uk/wedding/

If you don't roleplay, you won't get this

The group from hell.
