Geeks vs Suits
A bunch of links from geek and suit perspectives; go and read them. Go on. Shoo.
It’s an age-old phenomenon (well, in Internet time at least, which means it’s been going on for at least 20 years): techies and sales/finance people don’t agree. Well, that’s understandable. They’re coming from different perspectives and, frankly, I’d be worried if people who are asked to do significantly different jobs, agreed with each other on fundamental issues such as how the Internet should work.
Anyway. If you haven’t read World of Ends (via, well, pretty much the World), read it now; then go on to read Arnold Kling’s response, and the blog entry that, for me, mentioned Kling’s post in the first place, Zimran Ahmed’s economist take on it.
