Quest for the Jewel of Irrelevance, part 94
It's always in multiple pieces scattered across the entire game world. And you have to get every last single one of them.
You know how stereotypical roleplaying plots often revolve around collecting every single last damn part of this immense thing of great power, which has been split up into x parts and spread across the game world? Well, I encountered a beauty today, while playing Baldur’s Gate II, a game I’d initially abandoned and have now started playing again.
Peasant on random noble who is besieged in his own castle:
“He was trying to get the parts for his flail. He keeps it in pieces, and would never say why he left it like that. Wasn’t my place to ask, really.”
Gah. At least it looks like they’re trying to be ironic - or, at least, I’d like to hope that they are.
