Tonight's partisan political round-up

Go away, moderates - we all hate you.

OK, so that’s a lie. But I’m going to linkdump a whole bunch of stuff from left-wing blogs (that means Liberal or leftist, any US readers), so here goes.

First of all, Clark calls Fox on their party-political bullshit. Well done, General; it makes me hope that us Brits can teach the US, and Fox news especially, how politics should be done. Originally seen in Kos’s comments, and somewhere else as well, although I mysteriously cannot find that other source any more.

UPDATE: It’s now on Calpundit, and incidentally, you can skip through the ads (at least on Mac OS X) by moving the progress slider, while it’s in the ads, towards the end.

The Democrats round up the latest “nobody planned for the Peace in Iraq” story: Iraqi WMD specialists now have new jobs in Iran. To recap for those listening at home: we successfully used sanctions, no-fly zones and inspections in Iraq for years to stop Saddam Hussein getting a nuclear weapons programme. Then we invaded, so all of his people who had been unsuccessfully working on nuclear programmes went to Iran, which had a far more advanced nuclear programme. Nuclear proliferation 1 : Common sense 0.

Then, just before Bush visits the UK in a massive state visit, we hear that US authorities are giving tax breaks to US multinationals to move jobs away from the UK (Evening Standard, via the Semi-Daily Journal again). This is, of course, the same Bush who wanted his security personnel to have the right to shoot demonstrators without consequences, the tube network closed off, the right to have US airforce planes and helicopters patrol the area (which includes, lest we not forget, Whitehall and the Houses of Parliament), oh, and to use battlefield weaponry as an anti-rioter device. (Link found again via Charlie, but it’s been all over the place.)
