Fade out button for iTunes

There are a number of things that my first ever CD player (back in 1990) had which iTunes doesn’t do. One of them is easy: it’s a fade button. It means you can hit the fade button, and walk out of the room, and the music just dies away. Or you can mute the music without it jarring when you have a phone call (and fade it back in once you’ve got off the phone).

Another thing I want is a “make this the last thing you play” button. Useful for when you’re about to go to bed, for instance.

I’m pretty sure these are fairly easy to do in AppleScript, so has someone done this already? I’d do it myself, but in the meantime, I invoke the lazyweb.
