Only a fool never changes his mind

Howard Dean says he's not that kind of fool.

People have been accusing Howard Dean of flip-flopping. Here’s his reaction:

I have changed on some of the issues. I think that’s one of the hallmarks of who I am. I’m a doctor. I believe if you have a theory and the fact comes along that changes the theory, then you throw out the theory. The republicans believe that if a fact comes along that changes the theory, they throw out the fact. They deny there is such a thing as global warming. President made the case now that bipartisan committee in congress admits was exaggerated and ignored the facts for going to war in Iraq. This is pretty serious stuff. I have no complaint and no embarrassment about changing my positions at all. If facts come along that show you things need to change, you need to change them.

I don’t think there is virtue in stubbornly clean clinging to a theory when the theory is wrong and has led us into trouble. The republicans in this administration have proved that.

His answer is simple: he thought they were necessary at the time, to say Social Security, but Bill Clinton proved him wrong, so he’s changed his mind.

This is why we need Howard Dean to become the next President of the United States.

Oh, and if you haven’t been following the recent scandal of how former Ambassador Joe Wilson’s wife was outed as a CIA spy as petty revenge for her husband having called Bush a liar, here’s a summary of all the juicy bits.
