Bush welcomes anti-abortion bills as part of his humanitarian agenda.
Said Bush Jr as he acclaimed a bill that would prohibit abortion, even if the health or fertility of the mother were in danger. It will probably be passed, and as such be the first restrictive abortion bill since Roe vs Wade. (Clinton vetoed two such bills because they didn’t mention the health of the mother.)

And I must, for balance, admit that the bill is about banning abortions of babies whose heads (or other significant parts of the body *) are outside of their mother. It’s a so-called “partial-birth” abortion bill.
(*: I don’t know how significant a part of the body has to be to qualify.)
Still. I find it particularly sick that a gung-ho pro-war President should be scoring pro-life points at this time.
